My name is Patricia Commane and I am running for the State Representative seat in the 17th Essex District. I want to bring a different kind of politics to the State House. I am not your typical candidate - I am not a career politician. I understand that families and businesses are hurting from this severe economic recession. Getting people back to work will be my top priority. I am a lifelong public servant, having spent most of my career as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. My career focus has been to provide the training and support to disabled adults so that they can transition into the workplace. With my extensive knowledge of labor market trends, I can assist in the retraining of unemployed workers for jobs that are in high demand and/or in growing industries. I am a facilitator who can bring different perspectives to the table, encourage open communication, and resolve problems. I am a leader who understands that government is broken and will work hard to fix it. This election is not about partisan politics - Democratic or Republican. It is about supporting our communities through challenging times. I am asking for your vote in the primary on September 14th and again in the general election on November 2nd. Together, we will bring a new kind of politics to Beacon Hill.
